What youcangive

We gratefully accept your generous donations! To ensure your contributions can make a real difference, please make sure all items are in usable condition. We kindly ask that items be dropped off in-store only during our specified store hours.

What youcannotgive

Our operational space and repair capabilities are limited. While recycling is a priority for us, we are not a primary recycling facility. For the most efficient and effective recycling of certain items, we suggest utilizing a dedicated recycling depot or recycler. (Please see below for more information).

The journey of your donation: Creating impact every step of the way

Here’s what happens to your items once they arrive and how each one helps make a difference:

Giving Items a second life(around 35%)

Your donations are carefully prepared and sold in our shops. Shopping with us gives these items a new life and generates vital funds for our employment and education programs.

Sharing the good(around 35%)

Suitable donations are passed on to our network of trusted NGOs. This partnership helps them support their communities with needed items, amplifying the positive change.

Caring for the planet(around 30%)

Not all items are suitable for reuse. We ensure these items are handled responsibly by working closely with recyclers or creators, turning potential waste into recycled materials and protecting our environment.

Beyond selling: Our commitment to responsible waste management

Running our shops effectively means managing donations and materials with care. We work hard to give your pre-loved items a new life, but sometimes, donations aren't in sellable condition.

For these items, responsible disposal is crucial. We partner with local recyclers to ensure waste is separated and processed efficiently and safely, minimising our environmental footprint.

Got items to donate but unsure if they're sellable? If they're not suitable for The Good Shop, here's how you can still make a difference by recycling:

E-waste

You can bring to all Good Shops except Moka and pay a recycling fee which we pass on to BEM, who collects at our shops and transforms them at their factory.

Construction and Building Materials

Construction waste, such as rubble, tiles, and mixed materials, is challenging to recycle through standard channels. Responsible disposal through facilities like La Decheteque is essential to reduce environmental impact.
